Sublingual Tablet MTX-101
About a new medication in development for the treatment of migraine
MTX-101 is designed to work differently than the current migraine drugs, Nurtec and Qulipta. It targets a different receptor which modulates the effects of both CGRP and PACAP, which are thought to cause migraine. Nurtec and Qulipta only target the CGRP receptor.
As MTX-101 activates a different receptor, it is highly likely that it will prove effective in those patients who have not responded to Nurtec or Qulipta.
MTX-101 has proven safe with few side effects in long-term usage.
MTX-101 is currently being tested in Phase II clinical studies.
